I offered to lift somebody’s heavy suitcase for them while I was traveling. I helped them lift it so that they did not hurt themselves.

As I was doing yard work, I noticed that my neighbor\'s trash bins were still in the street. Trash pickup day was 2 days ago. The bins were in the way of someone who was cutting grass near the sidewalk. I wheeled the bins back into my neighbor\'s yard. I felt a bit strange, like I was trespassing on their property.

Today, I bought some vegetables from an old grandma farmer from the street. I feel warm.

Today, I tried a drop-in Pilates class for the first time and started talking to a woman who was also there. Surprisingly, we discovered that we went to the same school and work in the same field! It felt good to make a connection in the community.

I’m on a trip visiting different places in the next week or so. I’m trying to be mindful of those who live here and keep where I visit clean by picking up trash when I can.

I try to greet my neighbors with a smile whenever I see them. Some people don’t respond, but most return the greeting. I feel good when we exchange greetings.

I have made a monthly donation to Fistuala Foundation for over 10 years since I watched the documentary, A Walk to Beautiful, to improve the quality of women's lives.

On Dec 14, Member of Dallas group, Dongyeon Seo and Sean Kim carried out a Jungto Society promotion in front of the Austin Hmart for two hours, distributing 69 pamphlets out of a total of 136. Along with this, we also promoted the Jungto Dharma school and newsletter subscriptions. During the activity, some people expressed discomfort, saying, “I’m not interested because it’s Buddhism.” However, among those who accepted pamphlets, some read them as they left, and a few asked additional questions, expressing interest in learning more about Jungto Society. We sincerely thank to Dallas Group fellow practitioners for sending the pamphlets, which enabled us to carry out this meaningful activity. Moving forward, we will continue to actively engage in offline outreach.

I keep my community interactions to a minimum, but I always leave a public bathroom cleaner than how I found it.
