#2023missionimpossible My "almost" vegan dinner I had today. Mushrooms, broccolis, bean sprouts, radish, green onion, garlic (x99), aster leaves, mixed rice. It's still not completely vegan because I used anchovy extract to season the aster leaves.

#2023missionimpossible I ate vegan potato pizza with salad. I do not usually eat german foods but I enjoy very much healthy vegan foods.

#2023missionimpossible I ordered a burger at work with the impossible patty, so I can indulge in my unhealthy cravings and feel less guilty than I normally would.

Last week we spent a little extra money to install a heat pump for our home heating and cooling needs to replace our 23 yr old system. Now with our solar panels and backup battery, our house is a net positive producer of electricity. We produce extra electricity and send it back to the power grid. It is a passive attempt at helping the environment but I feel proud(and nerdy) to know that our family is helping by reducing demand for fossil fuels and reducing the demand for energy during these extreme weather conditions.

Today I could use all three items of eco-keeper - tumbler, handkerchief and cloth bag. In the afternoon my family had to walk quite long distance, sweating and thirsty then I handed them my handkerchief and tumbler. I was happy that all my family could be eco-keepers unexpectedly.

#2023missionimpossible Though I did not directly use any meat, this meal is still not vegan, because I used anchovy extract to season the stir fried aster side dish (취나물볶음). I\\\'m pretty sure the store bought kimchi also contains fish extract as well. When I feel like I\\\'m short on time, I often end up doing what I\\\'m used to instead of finding an alternate solution. On a slightly different note, the 1MB attachment limit seems awfully harsh and I wonder how many people will bother resizing their images before uploading 🙁

@2023missionimpossible / I am more conscious of what I eat and how they are cooked. I feel good and proud when my meal is more plant-based and comsumes less energy. When it is not, I don\\\\\\\'t feel like taking picture of what I eat. 😛

@2023missionimpossible The BBC article mentioned in the previous posts made me think of an article I read a few days ago on the topic https://amp.theguardian.com/environment/2023/jul/20/vegan-diet-cuts-environmental-damage-climate-heating-emissions-study. Avoiding dairy has been my biggest challenge as I have always loved cheese (I’m French 😜) and my partner who usually cooks at home adds cheese to every dish (he is Italian from the region of Parmeggiano cheese). I’m excited to challenge myself to eat 2/3 of my meals without dairy for the next 2 weeks and try to go vegan for a full week when I will return home (and will be able to cook my own meals).
