For many years, we paid a little extra to have our dirty local electricity generation offset with electricity from wind farms. Lately, we purchase 100% renewable electricity locally. I am glad that we don't have gas, since extraction and production of "natural" gas uses lots of energy, and the supply chain leaks methane into the atmosphere - a strong greenhouse gas.

When we bought our townhouse in 2013, I was initially concerned that there is no gas in the complex, but then I thought to myself, that we need to decarbonize anyway, so we are all electric.

We had our hot water pipes insulated during renovation, but it still takes a moment to get hot water in the shower. Instead of wasting the water, I collect it and use it for our patio garden.

I compost scraped food in planters on my apartment veranda. Recently, I got some volunteer plants!

Since beef is the worst protein for the environment, I try not to eat any beef (https://ourworldindata.org/food-choice-vs-eating-local).

I pack vegan, non-perishable items for lunch every day. If I don’t finish them, they are still good for the next day’s lunch.

I use water bottle instead of plastic bottle. Each time I use half of a tissue paper whenever possible.

#2023missionimpossible I made a tofu steak with a soy sauce. I also added tomatoes. Throughout this practice, I am being aware of my food habit and consciously choose to eat right (not only helpful to myself but also to others including our earth). I am not always successful, but will continue to try. Thank you so much for this opportunity to the Jungto Society and my fellow practitioners!

#2023missionimpossible Since I am back home in Switzerland, it has been easy for me to eat vegan at home. At work cafeteria, they always offer a vegetarian dish and this week it was omelette. I wanted to avoid it but there were no good quality protein sources available at the salad bar so I went for the omelette.

#2023missionimpossible It has not been easy for me to not eat meat, as my husband does grocery shoppings each time (where he always buys packs of meat..). So I'm trying to go vegetarian at lunch time of work. And voilà a vegi noodle I ate the other day. I'll try my best for the remaining days.
